Larissa Groeneveld

 

Larissa Groeneveld started her cellolessons with Daniel Esser.Later she studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Dimitri Ferschtman, where she graduated with the highest distinction. She continued her studies with Natalia Gutman at the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart, Germany, and followed masterclasses with Mstislav Rostropovich and Yo Yo Ma. In 1984 Larissa Groeneveld won the First Prize at the Luis Coleman International Competition in Spain,in 1992 the was finalist in the ARD Duo-Competition in München.She has performed together with various musicians, such as Herman Krebbers, Natalia Gutman,Giora Feidman and Reinbert de Leeuw, and has made several tours through Europe , Amerika and South Amerika. Groeneveld has performed as a soloist with major orchestras including the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra , the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker and the Berliner Symfoniker.

In 1988 the Osiris Trio, her piano trio was formed with the pianist Ellen Corver and the violist Peter Brunt.During the past 24 years, the group has won a number of Dutch awards, including the 'Philip Morris Finest Selection' award and the Annie Bosboom Prijs 1997.In 1996 they have played in the Rising Stars Series, where they could present themselves in the main concert halls of Europe, and in the Carnegie Hall in New York.

Since 2001 she is teaching violoncello and chambermusic on the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.

Larissa plays on a Domenico Busam cello from Venetie,1765.
